Boston Highball Co.

Brand Identity and Packaging Design

Boston Highball Co. is a beverage brand concept inspired by early-20th-century New England cocktail culture and reimagined for a modern audience. Inspired by 1910s–1920s highball traditions, the project explores how historical reference, typography, and materiality can be used to create a cohesive brand system. Visual decisions draw from construction of bars contemporary with the invention of the Highball, period photography, and regional cues, translated into a modern, commercially viable product line. The result is a brand that feels established and familiar, while operating in today’s beverage and hospitality landscape.

Design Approach

Boston Highball Co. draws from early 20th-century New England bar culture, using archival photography, period typography, and ornamental framing as primary points of reference. The project translates these historical cues into a contemporary brand system built for today. A consistent label architecture, restrained color palette, and structured typography allows each flavor to feel distinct while unified. The result is a brand that feels established and grounded.

Packaging & Collateral

Beyond the can, the brand extends into physical objects that reinforce its narrative, multi-can carriers, matchbooks, bar signage, and playing cards, positioning Boston Highball Co. within a broader hospitality ecosystem.
